How the composite algorithm score works
We weight each signal per the 2026 For You ranking model as documented in our algorithm guide. Bookmarks at 2.5, retweets at 2.0, replies at 1.6, likes at 1.0. The composite is the sum. The per impression normalization is the composite divided by impressions, which is the leading indicator of whether a tweet will graduate into expanded For You distribution.
Engagement rate benchmarks
Under 0.5 percent per follower is below category average. 0.5 to 1.5 percent is healthy. 1.5 to 3 percent is strong. Over 3 percent is elite tier, typically seen on creators with tight niche matching and consistent posting cadence. Rates above 5 percent usually indicate either very small follower counts or audience manipulation.
Why the Premium 5M gap matters
X Premium revenue share requires 500 followers plus 5 million post impressions across three rolling months. At 4 tweets per week steady pace, you need roughly 416,000 impressions per week to clear the bar. Accounts below that need either content velocity upgrades, follower growth to lift impression baseline, or a paid impression runway to close the gap.
Can I enter theoretical numbers to model a campaign?
Yes. The calculator does not validate the inputs against a specific handle. Enter projected numbers for a hypothetical account to plan before ordering, or enter actual numbers to audit current performance.
